Dear Content Producers,
The latest HDSLR (High definition single lens reflex) camera
which is nick named as DSMC (Digital Still Motion Camera) is fast
moving and development, which blurs the line between still
photography and motion cinematography. Recently, one of the famous
camera manufacturers, Canon, has a tremendous success of their EOS
5D series camera which is widely used from Hollywood movie, as
well as academic institutions, has made wave to movie making since
launched.
One of SMPTE Hong Kong Section’s missions is to promote and
encourage information exchange on new technologies. We have
organized seminars, conferences and educational trainings
throughout the past years and is highly appreciated by the SMPTE
headquarter. A seminar in sharing the technology of HDSLR/DSMC in
cinematic working, SMPTE-HK has invited a senior cinematographer,
Mr O Sing Pui, (HKSC: Hong Kong Society of Cinematographers),
famous for films titled “Ip Man”, and “Made in Hong Kong”
etc.. to share his expertise–– “Advance Digital Still and
Motion Imaging Seminar for Cinematography” on 18th May 2012
(Friday, 14:00-17:00). The seminar is targeted for: professional
cinematographers, producers, directors, cameramen from TV and
production houses of the industry, participants can be learned and
inspired by sharing and knowledge exchange. During the seminar,
some test footages in using the latest Canon DSMC EOS 5D MK III
and interchangeable lens professional video camcorder EOS C300
will be showed as demonstration and illustration.
The Seminar is organized by SMTPE Hong Kong Section, and IVE
and HKDI, co-organized by Tech-ex Dot Com Ltd, sponsored by Canon
Hongkong Co Ltd., and supported by Hong Kong Society of
Cinematographers.
